Faculty of Science at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is announcing a couple of positions aimed at particularly strong researchers at the assistant professor level (3 year tenure track positions, with funding for one PhD stipend, plus about USD 100,000 start-up money, and a low teaching load). SDU is a research-oriented univeristy located at the third largest city of Denmark, Odense, which has relatively low living expenses.
One of the areas the dean is seeking to hire in is "computer systems", which includes databases (plus operating systems and distributed systems). The position is in Denmark, but a large proportion of the faculty is not Danish. Knowledge of Danish is not a requirement. Female applicants are given higher priority, but all applicants will be consiered.
