The Database and Information Systems Centre (DIS) at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, is looking for excellent candidates for two assistant professorship positions (Italian RTD) in
* Core Database Technology and
* Temporal Database Systems.
Your research activity will concentrate on fundamental issues for next generation database and decision support systems, including the design and implementation of scalable algorithms and systems for advanced data management. Specific application problems and data will come from the area of temporal databases, e-government, and medical data analysis and are often characterized by time-varying data and heterogeneous information.
You should possess: an excellent Ph.D. in Computer Science (or close to finish it); good knowledge in one or several areas relevant for the topics specified above (e.g., core database technology, temporal databases, heterogeneous data and information processing, data analysis and mining); good proficiency in English.
Both positions have a duration of 3 + 3 years and shall be filled as soon as possible.
The salary amounts to roughly 35.000 Euro gross income per year. The candidates can also be involved in teaching activities, which is separately remunerated.
