We search for excellent researchers in one of the following areas:
- XML database theory and management
- machine learning for XML processing
INRIA Lille became an autonomous INRIA research institute in 2008. It has been in construction from the computer science department of the university of Lille since 2002. The institute continues expanding rapidely. This offers excellent opportunities for positions as permanent full time researchers, postdocs, doctoral, and master students.
Lille is the captital of the north of France, with million inhabitants in its metropolis close to Brussels, Paris and London.
Mostrare is INRIA's project on XML databases, machine learning, and their interaction. It combines methods from logics and automata with techniques from grammatical inference and statistical learning. Currently, we are seeking for excellent researchers that are interested in joining the Mostrare project as a permanent full-time researcher employed by INRIA or CNRS.
- INRIA Lille offers 4 positions for young researchers after postdoc (PhD thesis + 1-4 years), 1 position for a young researcher (PhD + 4-6 years), and some opportunities for senior researchers. There is a further chair offered at university supported by INRIA. These positions will be published officially mid of December.
- CNRS will offer many further positions of the same types as above, but for all over France. Lille is one of the possible locations.
We are particularly interested in candidates satisfying one of the following two profiles:
* XML databases, logic, tree automata, and data management * statistical learning, kernel methods, structured prediction, grammatical inference
Applications need careful preparation as soon as possible. The high relevance for the future of Mostrare must become evident to the selection committee.
