Position Description: The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI and the Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology is jointly seeking a postdoctoral scholar to contribute to research efforts and be trained in Medical Physics and Engineering for a two year term. The successful applicant will conduct research in mathematical, physical and biological modeling of patient breathing behavior in Image Guided Radiation Treatment. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in (medical) physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field. Background in simulation and modeling, signal and image processing, machine learning, and programming experiences are desirable.
Facilities and Equipment: The facilities at Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI (www.engr.iupui.edu) and the Department of Radiation Oncology at IU School of Medicine (http://medicine.iu.edu/body.cfm?id=4491&oTopid=0) are available for the related research activities. In addition, the facilities at the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute (MPRI, http://www.mpri.org/), a part of IU School of Medicine, are also available.
