The Department of Computer and Decision Engineering (CoDE) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, invites applications for a faculty (professor) position (tenured). We seek outstanding applicants with demonstrated research excellence in the domain of Web Engineering.

Required Degree
Ph.D. in (Computer) Science/Engineering
Teaching
The load, commensurate with a full-time appointment, will include teaching general Computer Science courses at bachelor level as well as more specialized research related courses at master level. In particular, the load includes the following course
- INFO-H-509: XML technologies and semantic Web
as well as additional courses to be created in the domain of web engineering.
The candidate should have good pedagogical skills and be able to teach in French or be prepared to learn French in a relative short period (condition for tenure).
Research
We expect that the candidate will complement the research realized at the Department of Computer and Decision Engineering (http://code.ulb.ac.be) with new but related expertise. In particular, we look for research on fundamental concepts, theories, and methodologies in the field of Web Engineering. We are looking for candidates with strong and proven research expertise in one or more of the following (or related) topics:
- Social Web (Web 2.0)
- Semantic Web (Web 3.0)
- Web Services
- XML technologies
- Ontologies and Knowledge Representation
- Web Information Systems
Supervising Ph.D. and MSc students as well as fundraising and the launching of new research projects are part of the duties. The candidate should have an excellent research record.
