Nokia is the world's leading manufacturer of mobile devices, producing more than 500 million a year. These devices are increasingly equipped with rich communication, media and sensing capabilities. In addition, Nokia is moving rapidly into mobile services that cater to these devices. These new capabilities and services bring great opportunities for innovative research into data management, analysis, and visualization of a complex and potentially valuable data set.
The Context, Content, and Community (C3) Team in Nokia Research Center Palo Alto is researching how to extract value from these complex data sources, and how best to transfer that value to the consumers. We are an agile, highly focused team. Our work involves a number of challenging research areas, including large-scale mobile systems, database systems, data mining and visualization. Above all we value innovative thinking, rapid prototyping, a sense of curiosity, and a love for working with data.
The C3 team is currently looking for a Visual Analytics researcher with the following qualities: You must have the ability to transform seemingly chaotic information into informative and intuitive visualizations. You enjoy working closely in a multi-disciplinary team where you are expected to provide leadership and help define the overall research agenda. You have strong technical expertise with visualization tools and programming languages. You are eager to experiment with new visualization techniques, a desire to innovate in this field, and committed to creating value for consumers.
If this describes you, please send your resume to ext-ginny.borelli@nokia.com for consideration.
