A PhD scholarship is available in the research area "Quality Assessment" at the Centre for Quantifiable Quality of Service in Communication Systems (Q2S, http://www.q2s.ntnu.no/). Q2S is a national center of excellence at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU, http://www.ntnu.no/english) in Norway.
The research focus of this PhD scholarship will be on Traffic Measurement. We seek highly motivated applicants holding a Master degree in telematics, mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in performance modeling and quantitative methods and are interested in hands-on network measurement. The PhD scholarship amounts to an annual gross salary of NOK 320 000 - 430 000. The duration of the scholarship is 3 years.
The application deadline is 15 April 2009. The application should contain information about education, exams and previous work experience, and a cover letter. Certified copies of degree certificates and transcripts must be enclosed. As a minimum a CV togehter with certificates for completed bachelor and master's degrees are required. Publications and other scientific works which the applicant wants to be considered at the appraisal should also be enclosed.
