Job description:
Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD scholarship at the Counterterrorism Research Lab, The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, University of Southern Denmark in Odense, available from August 1, 2009 or soon thereafter.
The Counterterrorism Research Lab is a new intiative at The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute targeted at building a toolbox of advanced mathematical models and software tools to assist criminal investigators in harvesting, filtering, storing, managing, analyzing, structuring, mining, interpreting, and visualizing terrorist information.
The focus of the PhD research is on developing tools and techniques / mathematical models for analyzing and structuring terrorist information from a knowledge management perspective.
Applicants for the scholarship must have a Masters degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field. Documented software prototyping skills as well as strong scientific writing skills are required. Candidates with relevant academic publications will be preferred.

Engagement as a Ph.D. Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the Fellowship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.
