Deadline: 15.05.2009

A PhD position is available at the Institute of Physiology II at the University of Münster (medical department) for 2 years (www.nanophysiology.de). Salary is at the level of TVL E13, 50%.

The project focuses on the action and regulation of ENaC in vascular endothelium and its influence on the biomechanical properties of the cells. The project includes fluorescence microscopy, atomic force microscopy and molecular biology and is based on previous reports from this laboratory (Oberleithner et al., JCS, 2006; Kusche-Vihrog et al., Pflugers Arch, 2008; Oberleithner et al., PNAS, 2009).

Our group offers an open working atmosphere and modern research facilities. We expect high motivation and fun with (nano)physiological questions and methods. Experience with molecular biological and microscopical techniques is desirable but not a requirement for a successful application.

The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent in the relevant field. To apply, please send a letter of application including research interests, C.V., and contact details for two or three references until 15.05.2009 by e-mail to: kusche-at-uni-muenster.de
