Three Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position Openings at UNSW
Fixed-term full-time appointment for a period of one year with a possibility of extension for a number of years.
We seek candidates with expertise in service-oriented architectures, aggregated services, service governance, contracting, auditing, life-cycle management, change management and versioning and/or knowledge support for service oriented architecture, light-weight composition and end-user computing. Completion of a PhD is required but those who have formally submitted their PhD thesis for examination may apply.
The areas of focus will be investigated in frontier service application areas: e-science, finance, government and digital media - where expertise to empower a service-based and competitive economy is much needed.
Successful candidates will work on the projects related to the Smart Services CRC, one of the Australian Government's Cooperative Research Centres Programs.
The current salary range for a postdoctoral research fellow can range from A$52,546 - $70,062 for Level A, A$73,573-A$86,734 for Level B, to A$89,362 - A$102,523 for Level C appointments, depending on qualifications and experience. DUTY STATEMENT
Duties include:
- Undertake research in the areas of service aggregation under the direction of the project leaders.
- Actively participate in collaboration with industry partners
- Document project results as requested by the project leaders, and deliver presentations about these results.
- In collaboration with the project's industry partner, participate in the prototyping and testing of concepts, techniques, or designs arising from the project.
- Work with the project leaders to publish outcomes of the project in conferences and journals of international standing as well as other forms of publication.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
1. Possession of a PhD in a relevant discipline (computer science, information systems) or formal submission of a PhD thesis for examination.
2. Demonstrated knowledge in one more areas of service-oriented architectures, aggregated services, service governance, life-cycle management, change management and versioning knowledge support for service oriented architecture, light-weight composition and end-user computing.
3. Proven ability to successfully collaborate with other researchers and to work under limited supervision.
4. Demonstrated ability or potential to validate research ideas through detailed software designs and/or software prototyping.
5. Demonstrated high level written communication skills with a proven track record of publications in conferences and/or journals of high international standing.
6. Demonstrated high level oral and interpersonal communication skills.
7. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
