Call for postdoc application: complex data warehouses
The University of Lyon 2, France is opening 6 month or 1 year postdoc positions, starting in September 2008.
Context: The ERIC laboratory specializes in data mining and data warehousing. In these domains, many applications necessitate external and heterogeneous data from various sources. Furthermore, the development of the Web and the proliferation of multimedia documents lead to analyze data that are not numerical or symbolic. We term these data complex data. At ERIC, we work on exploiting complex data in decision-support processes, and particularly in data warehouses, within the decision-support databases subteam.
Mission: Contribute to the design and development of a complex data warehousing approach (WaCoDa) and its instantiation as an XML-based software platform (X-WaCoDa).
Conditions to apply:
- Be younger than 35 on December 31, 2008.
- Have a PhD from a non-French university since less than 3 years, in computer science, with research experience in database technologies, and in particular data warehousing, XML databases and/or Web services.
- Foreign students who'd have obtained their PhD in France or are already visiting a French lab are not eligible.
- Not having studied at the University of Lyon 2, except for ERASMUS students.
Monthly take-home pay: 1 835.70 Euros
Deadline: July 1, 2008 (the actual application form to U.Lyon2 will be filled by the candidate and us, and is due on July 15).
