The Database and Information Systems Centre (DIS) at Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy) is looking for a Post Doctoral or Assistant Professor (depending on qualification) with research interests in the area of Recommender Systems. The position is starting from January 2009.
DIS is active in a number of research projects in this area and in particular on: learning conversational policies for recommender systems, group recommender systems, cross-domain recommendations, learning user models from interaction data, evolution of recommender systems, mobile and context-aware recommender systems applications in tourism and eHealth.
We are looking for exceptional candidates with the following characteristics:
- teaching experience
- established track record of creating and publishing
results of high research quality;
- strong technical skills and experience of programming in Java;
- substantial mathematical background;
- experience of working on international projects;
- excellent presentation skills.
The start date for these positions will be January 2009 or as soon as possible after that. The assistant professor position is for 3 years renewable, the Post Doctoral position is for 2 years. However, we have been able to generate continuous funding stream, and the successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to, and benefit from the continuation of this funding.
