THE PROJECT
The Learning Design Support Environment (LDSE) project is funded by the EPSRC/ESRC under the Teaching and Learning Research Programme. The main focus of the project is to discover how to use digital technologies to support lecturers and teachers in designing effective technology-enhanced learning (TEL). Methodologically, our approach will be one of iterative design and evaluation. We will be working with academic staff to research, and co-construct, an interactive personalised environment to enable lecturers to lead the discovery of innovative pedagogical designs that exploit the potential of TEL. The project is a collaboration between six UK Higher Education institutions: Birkbeck College, the Institute of Education, London Metropolitan University, the London School of Economics, Oxford University, and the Royal Veterinary College. The two posts will be based at the London Knowledge Lab, a unique collaboration between two of the UK's most prominent centres of world-class research - the Institute of Education and Birkbeck.
